Consistency or Hypocrisy? The Impact of Internal Corporate Social Responsibility on Employee Behavior: A Moderated Mediation Model

Adopting social identity theory, this study examined the process linking relations between internal corporate responsibility (InCSR), work engagement, and turnover intention by focusing on mediating influence of organizational identification moderating role perceived hypocrisy. Data were obtained from 311 medical staff (excluding supervisors managers) a public regional teaching hospital in Taiwan. The results revealed that employees are more dedicated to less inclined leave firm if they perceive InCSR is implemented within firm. However, an employee perceives hypocrisy inconsistency communication actual actions, it may have opposite effect employees. Likewise, higher level hypocrisy, lesser positive behavior. Finally, implications, limitations, suggestions for future research discussed.
